I've been robbed!Last night

-----Original Message----- From: Garcia, Winnie Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 10:13 AM To: All XEM Staff Subject: I've been robbed!Last night I left our office at 7:15 pm, walked down to the nearby Spinneys supermarket to buy some grocery items. From there I proceeded to the vacant lot (sand parking area) opposite Spinneys to get my car. The place has no light post but I managed to notice one man standing not far from my car. I didn’t suspect anything bad as I’ve been living in Dubai for 17 yrs in peace.Quietly I opened the passenger’s seat in the front side to put my handbag and the Spinney’s bag then I got in the car, sat in the driver’s seat, tried to pull the seatbelt and to my surprise one man suddenly opened the passenger’s seat and threw away a handful of chili powder on my face, grabbed my handbag and ran away. It happened so fast. I cried in pain, my eyes were burning hot as large amount of chili powder got into my eyes. I shouted for help and the police came.Apart from bank cards, mobile phone and some amount of money, that bag contained a very important document including my original passport + original passports of my entire family as I came from the embassy that day I’d just like to warn you to be alert at all times wherever you are, whatever you do. Most victims are women walking alone carrying a handbag. Crime in Dubai is increasing, gone those old days when you can walk on the street with your jewelries or any other valuables or huge amount of money without being snatch or robbed. When country is booming, population is also growing so we should expect that crime to grow high as well.Be alert! This could happen to anyone. Please share this incident to your wife, sister, relatives or friends. Winnie GarciaPersonal AssistantXerox Emirates LLCP.O.
